Modelling of a Post-Mining Catchment for Future Simulations

چکیده

Landform evolution modelling (LEM) provides an avenue for simulating how a landscape may evolve over extended time periods of thousands years. CAESAR-Lisflood LEM which includes hydrologic model (TOPMODEL) and hydraulic (Lisflood) can be used to assess the proposed final landform morphology mine site by would 1000-year period. The accuracy future simulations depends on calibration validation past present events. Calibration involve finding combination parameters when applied simulated gives outputs similar those observed real scenario corresponding input data. Calibrating sediment output at catchment level using it studying equilibrium conditions is area that has yet explored. Therefore, aim this study was calibrate then validate it. To achieve this, run rainfall event with set parameters, plus discharge data point catchment, analyse behave compared catchment. were adjusted until closely approximated values validated running different events checking gave results values. outcomes demonstrated while calibrated greater extent hydrology (discharge output) throughout year, slightly improved via ability change take into account seasonal vegetation growth during start end wet season. This important designing testing post-mining rehabilitated systems movement in biomes.

Modelling of monsoon rainfall for a mesoscale catchment in North-West India II: stochastic rainfall simulations

Within this study we present a robust method for generating precipitation time series for the Anas catchment in North Western India. The method employs a multivariate stochastic simulation model that is driven by a time series of objectively classified circulation patterns (CPs). In a companion study (Zehe et al., 2006) it was already shown that CPs classified from the 500 or 700 Hpa levels are...

E2 - A Flexible Framework for Catchment Modelling

Catchment management requires modelling for compliance, investigation, understanding, knowledge capture, and informing decisions. The nature of the problems is variable, ranging across scales both temporally and spatially, including discrete events, long term averages, daily and seasonal dynamics, point and spatial estimates and total catchment outputs. These requirements have spawned a variety...

Catchment modelling-a resource manager's perspective

Models are invaluable tools for resource management. Models help resource managers develop a shared conceptual understanding of complex natural systems, allow testing of management scenarios, predict outcomes of high risk and high cost environmental manipulations, and set priorities. Catchment modelling is a specialist field, and different modelling approaches are specialist areas in themselves...

Integrated catchment modelling: an application to Molenbeek catchment, Belgium

Hydrological, hydrodynamic and water quality models are often used to simulate surface water in a correct way to be a good basis for decisions regarding the development and management of water resources. Molenbeek is one of the main tributaries of the River Dender basin (Belgium). The hydraulic model is implemented by using the MIKE 11 software of the Danish Hydraulic Institute (DHI). It is a v...

Species distribution modelling of invasive alien species; Pterois miles for current distribution and future suitable habitats

The present study aims to predict the potential geographic distribution and future expansion of invasive alien lionfish (Pterois miles) with ecological niche modelling along the Mediterranean Sea. The primary data consisted of occurrence points of P. miles in the Mediterranean and marine climatic data layers were collected from global databases. All the used models run 100% su...
